WHAT DOES subless DO?

subless lets you set a flat monthly budget for tips to creators, browse the internet normally, and at the end of the month, have that budget automatically split between the creators whose art you viewed, divided by how much you viewed them.

WHY NOT SUBSCRIBE TO EACH CREATOR?

We do, but there's just too many!

We've both got full stacks of creators we support, and at this point, adding new ones means going through our current subscriptions, cancelling some, changing others' amounts, etc. - it's a pain in the butt, and it means we end up not supporting creators we want to.

With subless, there's no juggling - it's just "set a budget and browse the internet," and at the end of the month, our budget supports the creators we enjoyed.

HOW DOES subless DISTRIBUTE FUNDS?

Whenever you load a website with a subless creator's content on it, they're added to the list of creators you've visited that month. At the end of the month, the amount of money you set as your monthly budget is distributed among the creators from that list, with the funds split by how much you viewed each creator.

AS A CREATOR , WHY SHOULD I USE subless FOR FUNDING?

It's a way viewers can support you just by loading your content, without going through a one-time donation flow or making a direct subscription!

HOW DOES subless MAKE MONEY?

subless takes a 2% cut of each subscribers' budget. So if a subscriber set a $10 monthly budget, $9.80 goes to creators and partnered platforms, and 20 cents goes to Subless.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DONT LOG IN ALL MONTH?

Your month's funds roll over to the next month, so you're not charged again.

HOW MUCH DOES subless COST?

You set your own budget, with a minimum of $5.00.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We integrate with Stripe for users setting their budgets and sending them to Subless. We currently have stripe set up to support all major credit cards - let us know if there are any others you'd like to see.

MY UnionPay CREDIT CARD IS BEING DECLINED. HOW CAN I FIX IT?

Unfortunately, stripe does not currently support credit cards that use "3DS authentication," which some UnionPay credit cards do. They hope to enable support for such cards soon; in the mean time, try using a card that does not use 3ds authentication.

WHAT DOES STRIPE CHARGE FOR PAYMENT PROCESSING?

Our budget split occurs after stripe takes its payment processing fees, and stripe currently takes about 3%. https://stripe.com/pricing

IS THERE A MINIMUM PAYOUT?

Any payouts under $0.01c will roll over to the next month.

I SIGNED UP AS A CREATOR. HOW CAN I TELL WHAT I'LL GET PAID?

You can't know exactly what you'll make until the end of the month. User's budgets are split among all the creators they view that month, and so each day, as they view more content, how much you'll get paid by them changes. However, you can see the number of subscriber who've visited you, and how many times your content has been visited, giving you an insight into the activity around your content.

I WANT SUBLESS ON MY SITE! HOW DO I BECOME A PARTNER?

CAN I USE subless WITHOUT COOKIES?

subless uses a 3rd party cookie to log you in on each of our partner sites. Some extensions and browser settings block these cookies, for example:

"Strict" privacy and security in firefox
"Block all 3rd party cookies" in chrome
NoScript extension
uMatrix extension

In all of these cases, you can continue to use subless normally by adding an exception for cookies created by these domains:

app.subless.com
login.subless.com

DO I NEED TO PAY TO BE A CREATOR ON SUBLESS?

Nope! You only need to link your partner site account to a subless account. For our HF beta creators, we have instructions here. That said - we have creators who are also subscriber, and we'd be happy to have you as both.

CAN I USE SUBLESS WHILE INCOGNITO / PRIVATE BROWSING?

Some Chrome and Firefox privacy settings require adding exceptions for subless in order for subless to work in incognito/private mode. Here are the instructions to use subless with Chrome and Firefox private modes:

WHY ISN'T THIS SUBLESS PARTNER SHOWING ME AS LOGGED IN?

There are some browser privacy protections which can interfere with third party cookies, which can prevent a partner from showing you as logged in. These instructions should correct the issue:

Any content subless partners allow you to post on their sites, you can also monetize using subless.
